LanzaTech Global, Inc. operates as a nature-based carbon refining company in the United States and internationally. It operates through three segments: Biorefining, Joint Development Agreements and Contract Research, and CarbonSmart Segment. The Biorefining Segment provides feasibility studies, and basic design and engineering services; as well as sells microbes and media. The Joint Development Agreements and Contract Research Segment perform research and development services comprising novel technologies, and develops biocatalysts such as to produce fuels, and chemicals for commercial applications. The CarbonSmart Segment purchases ethanol from the customer, sells it, and its derivatives as CarbonSmart products. The company transforms waste carbon into the chemical building blocks for consumer goods, such as fuels, household cleaners, packaging materials, fibers for clothing, and fragrances. It also offers protein products, which are used as animal feed, fish feed, and fertilizers. In addition, the company offers mobile gas testing services. LanzaTech Global, Inc. was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in Skokie, Illinois.
